Tummy Tuck

The most common causes of loosening and sagging in the abdominal area are pregnancy and weight gain. In both cases, the skin tissue stretches due to the increase in abdominal volume. While subcutaneous adipose tissue diminishes with weight loss and post-pregnancy, some individuals struggle to adapt, leading to uncomfortable sagging. Additionally, as abdominal muscles shift from their alignment, an arched appearance emerges in the abdomen.

The issue here is not muscle weakness, but rather the displacement, making it impossible to rectify the image through exercise. The objective of tummy tuck surgery is to eliminate excess sagging skin and tighten the weakened abdominal muscles.

Will there be any scars from the surgery?

Since tissue is removed during tummy tuck surgery, scarring is unavoidable, but it remains within the underwear area. For individuals who have undergone a cesarean section previously, the scar is repositioned downwards and planned to extend towards the edges. As it is relocated, a scar around the belly button will persist within the crease. Furthermore, abdominal stretch marks below the belly button disappear after the surgery.

Surgical Procedure

The procedure is conducted under general anesthesia and typically lasts 2 to 3 hours, depending on the technique employed. It is advisable to stay in the hospital for two nights after the surgery. Wearing a corset for approximately 3 weeks post-discharge is recommended. Due to abdominal tension, caution in movement is necessary for the first few days. Return to daily activities is possible after one week, while exercise can commence after a month.
